Human Compass Creative - Upcoming Workshops

Join us again! 

3 workshops!  3 themes!Come move and create with us in March and April! Join contemporary dance artist Kathy Lang, and Yoga, mindfulness teacher Michelle Mitschrich for these creative and focused workshops.  Each 2 hour workshop offers yoga mind - body centering, guided contemporary dance, and a positive, creative environment to support your dance expression. Beginners welcome. 

Worshop #1: Self Portrait - Create your self portrait through personal movement

Still Mind - Feb 10, 2019

A look at meditation and mindfulness.  The difference, and the benefits of each. Practice tools for your everyday life.

Awake and Alive - February 17, 2019

Combine the practice of yoga and Bowspring (healthy postural alignment) to challenge the body and mind.  Move, breathe, release, and have fun.

Breathe - February 24, 2019

Learn how our breath can help to energize and relax the body.  You will learn tools to take into your everyday life. Excellent for stress and anxiety reduction.

Rest and Restore - March 3, 2019

A practice that allows you to deeply relax your body, relieve stress, and connect to your breath.

Where: Victoria Athletic Club (Hotel Grand Pacific)

Self Portrait

Enjoy this creative workshop as you are guided through a series of breath and movement exercises leading you safely to a creative introspective dance solo.  Through personal goals focus for the day, you will access choreographic process support and be a guided towards your own personal movement vocabulary.  Dancers will meditate on where they are at in the moment, identify a key focus, expand movement vocabulary, translate emotion into movement, culminating in a small danced self-portrait. 

Some experience with dance and full body movement is preferred.

- Discussion on “movement in life” How can we be more functional and better supported  (hiking, swimming, running, walking)
